IN THE PALE YELLOW LIGHT

(We Dare to Dream...)

Skimpy Red knew the journey was about to begin. He had come to her before; this lover that defied time and reason and continually found her across all the barriers of this physical reality that cloud one's vision of that which is real. How could he do that? Yet still he came with regularity into the realm and the dreamtime of Skimpy Red's reality. Nameless, timeless; and always with love in his heart he would approach her; lead her down the corridors of her mind shattering all conceptions of love between two souls. He was her soul mate.

This time, he led her into the void; a dark nameless place that had no definitive boundaries yet possessed substance that gave a sense of reality in one's travels. As they stepped from one reality to another, from one world to another; a pale yellow light surrounded them like an irridescent glow with no basis for its existence. This pale yellow light followed them; allowed them to see a distance yet not too far. It was enough.

He led her to some very large steel tracks quite like that of a train yet much larger in size. Their very large size made her feel like a little person; and things seemed so strange here but she trusted her lover with all her heart and mind and soul and fear was nonexistent. Skimpy Red began to ask a question but her lover said they could not talk here. He instead, held her hand and guided her gently and reassuringly; the lead was his and she was quite comfortable with that. She could feel a danger but knew, her lover would keep her safe.

They followed the tracks for a time; and every so often they would come upon a steel structure looming over the tracks at regular intervals. Four-legged, iron and steel; the legs were joined above in a square. When they passed underneath Skimpy Red would look up at the metal surroundings and wonder what they could be.

In the distance behind them, Skimpy Red could hear clanging; and she wanted to ask but knew she could not. Still the question formed in her mind and the answer given. The next time they came to one of the overhead structures, the clanging began overhead.

The structures were landing platforms; and a ship was descending upon the metal. Skimpy Red just watched in amazement. No problem being speechless now. Her lover held her tight; and watched along with her; and when the ship had fully descended and locked upon the steel bars, he kissed her.

The Light that appeared and surrounded them was a column of brilliant white light and in a second, they were transported aboard the ship. Skimpy Red was in shock; but still, the trust she had for her lover superceded any fear. This was her soulmate; and trust was not in question.

Inside the ship, the walls and floors were white. Skimpy Red looked around and noticed a small bed on one side and a panel of switches and lights next to it. She looked ar her lover (no, no words were needed) and he led her to the bed, laid her down, and began to work the panel of switches and lights.

Again she questioned; in her mind she asked the questions that arose amidst the unfamiliarity of the strange yet wonderful world of this pale yellow light and the ships that passed in the night....

Her lover bent over her and kissed her once more then whispered softly in her ear, "I must leave you now for a short while", and he turned and left the room.

Skimpy Red felt Light; saw Light, knew Light. It came from every direction she could imagine and it filled her so completely she became Light. It was cosmic white and would alter and dance with every breath she took; the rainbows filtering thru her soul and leaving their mark indelibly printed upon her mind forever. It was a healing table and she knew healing.

After a time, her lover came back and picked her up off the table. As they stood together they hugged; and the brilliant column of Light materialised around them once more transporting them back to the pale yellow world below.

Skimpy Red loved her soulmate with a passion very few would ever know. He was her soul; her heart; her love and her only. She loved his spirit; was in awe of him on so many levels. He reminded her of one that engaged in some sort of espionage and often wondered if he did secret missions for those in that other reality of men and money; yet she would never ask. Here in dreamtime she loved him; and was one with him and that was all that mattered. Tho she had spent her life and her music calling his name and his soul to her, she had yet to know him in the other world of men and money and misuse of power. She would take, for now, what she could get, and would not question.

Her lover led her to what looked like a warehouse and opened the door to let her in. Once inside, the light seemed normal again; not at all like the pale yellow light that had followed them along the ground of the world outside the building. Her lover led her down a hallway and showed her the door at the end. His words to her then were, "Don't ever go thru that door." And she knew he spoke not of danger of machinery nor of animals that would consume you but of men; and their power and those that cared not what they did to another soul.

They turned to the left and walked down another long corridor to a bedroom that seemed filled with the swirling blue-green fluid she had come to know as emotions. And emotions overtook her. The depth of the love she felt for her lover went well beyond that, of any word, spoken or unspoken.

It humbled her soul like the realization of the sacredness of all human life does to one that had never before touched upon such depth. She felt so, so weak. Her lover picked her up and saved her from falling and carried her to the bed and gently laid her down. But this time, he did not leave her side.

Her mind drifted in and out of his touch; and the blending of souls was complete. Thoughts existed no longer for Skimpy Red. They danced upon the waves of soul magic and the night went on without them.

All too soon, Skimpy Red's lover looked down at her, kissed her lightly, and said, "I have to go now." Tho it pained Skimpy Red to understand those words that seared thru her soul leaving her to bleed, she knew he had no choice for if he did, he would have stayed by her side forever.

Tears formed in her eyes; and she closed them as her lover kissed her gently once more and said, "Im so sorry, this is all I can do for you right now."

When Skimpy Red awoke, her lover was gone.

THE DREAM SONG

In the middle of the night
In the pale yellow light
I see you standing there before me
Your love a shield unto my heart
In the dark we stand apart
From the shadows of the lonely night
In the twinkling of an eye
The ships are passing us by
And the Light we find is healing.
We dare to dream the moments
Of an unforgotten love
Thru time and space we find the Light
Of our two stars above..
I love you.

In the middle of the night
In the pale yellow light
You give complete direction
As you lead me thru the door
In deep pursuit of something more
A cry to be protected
We mustnt let them see us now
Gently I touch your brow
And the night is ours forever.
We dare to dream the moments
Of an unforgotten love.
Thru time and space we find the Light
Of our two stars above
I love you.....
